Wine Vacations: A Niche Trend In Luxury Travel

What’s a vacation without a bottle of wine? A Vancouver-based company named Into the Vineyard is clubbing both the worlds. The luxury travel firm specializes in wine vacations – holidays that take travelers to the finest wineries around the world.

We hear that Into the Vineyard will be donating a wine trip for two at the Bacchanalia Gala Auction during the forthcoming Vancouver International Wine Festival. The lucky pair that places the winning bid will be given the five-star treatment when the travel company transports them to the Hospice de Beaune Wine Auction in Burgundy, France. Indeed, that is where the action is in November 2012. The travelers will get a preview of the 600 wine barrels up for auction. They will also be treated to a Grand Cru tasting session at a 14th century cellar, in the company of a count. The luxury travel package is worth $4,659 per person and includes meals and accommodation at a leading hotel in Beaune.

Founders Dean Horvath and Colin Simpson launched Into the Vineyard after many years in the luxury travel industry. The duo brings their expertise to this travel company. Horvath also founded and is currently president of Mason Horvath, a website that deals in luxury travel deals. Simpson has several years of luxury active travel experience working at Butterfield & Robinson. Their networks with people in the travel industry help them get the best deals, unique ones at that.

One of the coolest deals that Into the Vineyard offered recently was a customized trip to Chile. The vacationers visited wineries near Santiago. There was also a trip to Casa Marin, where the travelers indulged in an exclusive wine tasting session with the top woman winemaker in the nation.

The niche travel firm’s vacation deals cost around $400 to $800 per day per person. Start booking if you have a taste for luxury and wine.
