Vogue Publisher To Start Fashion School In London

London is set to become home to yet another college of fashion and design as Vogue magazine publisher Conde Nast makes a foray into the education sector. The new fashion school is due a September 2012 launch. Vogue magazine editor Susie Forbes will serve as the first principal of the soon-to-launch college. To begin with, the Conde Nast college will offer a 12-month Vogue fashion foundation course. Alongside, the institute will be offering shorter courses in fashion. Interior design and decoration courses are also in the pipeline. Interested students would be interested to learn that the institute plans on introducing Masters level courses as well. The company is also contemplating introducing undergraduate education at a later point.

The England government has been actively seeking new education providers in recent times. In England, colleges often become affiliated to universities to ensure higher levels of education. Conde Nast too claims to have gotten in touch with higher education providers in the days leading up to its launch. The college will offer subjects including the history of fashion and design, and industry related journalism and business.

Choosing London could key be to the success of the new college. The UK capital continues to be one of the fashion capitals of the world, attracting creative talents from around the world. London’s position in the fashion arena will provide the college with access to some of the biggest names of the fashion and design industry. This would be a huge benefit for students of the upcoming institution.
