Kentucky is probably best known for Kentucky Fried Chicken. But Kentucky has now been trying to woo companies to its soil through its relatively cheap labour in order to increase employment in the state. The latest one to be wooed in is a company we would not really associate with the state of Kentucky. Apparently, Tiffany & Co. is going to build its latest facility in Lexington, Kentucky.
This facility will be making basic jewellery and accessory pieces. Tiffany & Co’s other facilities are located in Rhode Island and New York. This facility will be completed by the first half of the coming year. It will not only provide over a hundred jobs, but will also help Kentucky attract other big names. The company has a lot of products under its belt and a lot of them are made outside of the US.
China’s whose luxury market is booming will be a very important market for Tiffany’s as well. It is interesting to see how tables have turned in this situation where US will be providing volume goods for China. Kentucky already has several automotive factories as well and due to its friendly business environment is attracting mane new companies.
