London is expecting a huge inflow of visitors for the Royal Wedding on April 29. Now that the official ceremony just a month away the preparations which started right after the official engagement, are building up to its climax. Thomas Cook, who would be helping a lot of those visitors to make it to London to witness the spectacular ceremony and be part of the excitement and celebration, has launched a limited edition Cash Passport for the occasion.
Only 3,000 of the cash cards have been released and have become available at the foreign exchange bureau at Heathrow Terminal 5 and the Manchester Airport as well as select Thomas Cook agencies. Prince William and Kate Middleton feature prominently on the currency card. A Cook spokesman said on the occasion of the launch that it was the most fitting tribute by the agency to the celebrations leading up to the Royal Wedding as they were the creators of the forerunners of the traveler’s cheque way back in 1874.
Thomas Cook has the largest share of the worldwide sales of the prepaid currency card. Cash Passport will be the only Royal Wedding memorabilia to be released by Cook and so, they have turned it into a collectible edition. The cards have been created only in Pounds denomination as they are meant for use during the wedding in London. It features a picture of the couple when they announced their engagement. The Cash Passport comes in a commemorative envelope.
