The Only Watch Charity Auction For 2011 To Be Held At Monaco

It hardly gets better than this for watch lovers. The Only Watch charity auction is ready to enter its fourth year in the coming month. And the event has already got over forty veteran watchmakers preparing for the event. The participants for the Only Watch auction include such big names as Harry  Winston, Montblanc, Breguet, Van Cleef & Arpels and Chopard. Each of these luxury watchmakers have already created special luxury watches that will be sold at the charity auction.

The high profile event is scheduled to be held on 23 September at the Hotel Hermitage in Monaco. Prior to this much-awaited annual event, the Only Watch 2011 collection will be sent off on a world tour. The classy and high-end timepieces will head off to the luxury watch collecting capitals of the world. Cities like Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Los Angeles, New York, Milan, and Geneva feature on the travel itinerary of the Only Watch 2011 collection. The tour will commence on 30 August and carry on until 17 September.

The watch tour will end in Monaco. A three-day exhibition from 21 to 23 September held at the Monaco Yacht Show will bring the tour to a close. The final auction will be conducted on 23 September by horological auction specialists Antiquorum Auctioneers. The watches on offer are all collectors’ items. The prices will range from $8,000 to $600,000, which means only serious collectors and the seriously wealthy will be able to participate in the charity auction. All proceeds from the Only Watch auction will go towards funding research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
