The New Leica for Common Photographers Gives Professional Results

Leica, the venerable German manufacturer of cameras has long tradition and history of manufacturing cameras. Their high level of craftsmanship has given us a long lineup of cameras that can even confuse an average cameraman while choosing the right camera for his needs. The latest addition that takes their camera lineup forward is the V-Lux 30 model. It is not a camera for a professional photographer like the highly sought after M9 Titanium. It may not offer all the fit and finish of the professional camera but is most suited for the needs of an everyday photographer.

The V-Lux 30 makes it possible for an amateur photographer to capture professional quality digital photos and videos footage. The new camera is an improvement on the existing V-Lux 20 which has been one of the most successful models of point and shoot model of Leica cameras. The new camera increases magnification power from 12 times to 16 times optical zoom, and ups the effective megapixel count from 12.1 to 14.1. It becomes evident in the quality of the photographs. One can safely say that the results are as good as many professional cameras.

The V-Lux 30, comes equipped with a 3-inch touch screen image display which you don’t normally get in a point and shoot camera. One unique feature of the new camera enables the user to capture photos in 3-D if so desired. One can shoot videos in 1080i high definition as opposed to the 720p resolution of the previous model V-Lux 20. Another unique feature is the camera’s integration with a GPS function that works in conjunction with such social networks and map services as Facebook and Google Maps. It enables the camera to identify1 million global points of interest when capturing photos on the go. The new model is available for $749.
