The new Conran Shop brings to us the most eye-catching furniture

Ever since Sir Terence Conran opened his first shop in 1973 in London, he has delivered the best furnishing that is there. Now his shop on the lower level of ABC Carpet & Home will boast of a diverse new range alongside the classics- Mies, Starck, Saarinen. He has now shifted his sights to eco designs and the most stylish contemporary designs.

They have a collection of some of the most interesting looking yet absolutely useful pieces. The funky Oswald Squint sofa ($6,995) upholstered in a patchwork of vibrant colors and stripes would be hard to miss. Their Foos Ball Table ($4,600), would surely be the cynosure of everyone’s eyes. Their rosewood trunk ($4,500) looks a bit intimidating, but what is great is that it amalgamates a mirrored- dressing table and bench, all of it made with the finest wood. The Carol chair ($595), with its clean cut design will work in a traditional as well as a contemporary room.

Upstairs ABC can be called a woman’s domain with its flirty and feminine designs, while the new Conran Shop showcases furniture, lighting, household and specialty items, which are more pleasing to the masculine aesthetics.

Visit the Conran Shop, lower level, 888 Broadway (East 19th Street), or visit their website to view true works of art.
