A house with an indoor slide may very well be the dream house for many children and adults alike. The Skyhouse penthouse in Lower Manhattan offers exactly that. It has an 80 foot slide running through its interiors. The entrance to this mirror polished stainless steel slide is located in the southern end of attic and navigates through the guest bedroom, the third level stairs and ends at the entrance gallery. A yellow cashmere blanket enables you to whizz through the slide with greater speed. This slide feature surely ups the ante for this NYC penthouse, which already boats of a great location.
Renovated by architect David Hotson, the Skyhouse penthouse sprawls through the top four floors of one of the earliest surviving skyscrapers in the Big Apple. It was completed way back in 1896 and was designed to be American Tract Society’s headquarters. The penthouse also boasts of an enviable view of some New York’s finest landmarks, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, and St.Paul’s Chapel. SkyHouse has a private elevator, which brings guests to a stairwell shaft, which thanks to the glass floors, gives a view of the attic located way up on the fourth floor! The decor is very modern, innovative, simplistic yet quirky and has been designed by Ghislaine Viñas.
Another great feature of the penthouse is how well natural lighting is used. One of the bedrooms also has a glass enclosure, similar to stairwell shaft, which gives a view of the floors below. There is also a central support beam that can be used like rockwall. This house is sounding more and more like an amusement park. And I am sure whoever buys it wont be complaining. You got a Jacuzzi in your house, well I got a silde. Beat that! I wonder what will be the price for this unique penthouse. This however isnt the first house with its very own slide. A Villa in Thailand has its own water slide. There is one in NYC as well.
