We know that the most expensive private mansion on the market right now is the Spelling Mansion in Beverly Hills that is valued at $150 million currently. But which one is the second most expensive mansion. Well, the one taking that spot recently entered the market and is in Paris. The picture that you see above is one of the last great private houses in Paris and has been listed for $140 million.
It is located on the famous Avenue Foch. This house was built by Duchesse de Montmorency way back in 1912. After the Duchess’ death in 1927, this house was bought by mining tycoon and avid art collector Antenor Patino. This house is being offered by Christie’s Great Estates affiliate Daniel Féau. The house is pretty huge with nearly 28,000 square feet of internal living space that includes 12 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, as well as 4 staff quarters.
Since the house is quite old, it has those old world charm like wood panelling, marble fireplaces, high ceilings paintings by French Post-Impressionist painter Henri Rousseau. Crystal chandeliers, massive Corinthian columns, marble floors, all of these add to the charm and splendour of this mansion. By the way those who end up living here would have neighbours like the Rothschild and Onassis family.
