Four Seasons founder Isadore Sharp and Abercrombie & Kent founder Geoffrey Kent will personally participate to enhance the experience of guests on a private jet trip along the Silk Road next year. These pioneers of luxury travel will join the guests at the beginning and at the end of the trip titled “In the Footsteps of Legends: A Journey by Private Jet.†The trip has been designed for a small group of 40 guests and will run between June 5 and 20, 2015. Just before the trip departs from London Mr. Kent will join the guests for a dinner at Highclere Castle, the estate featured on PBS drama “Downtown Abbey.”
The 16 day tour will conclude in Toronto where Mr. Sharp will invite the guests to his home for dinner. Between London and Toronto the tour will take the guests to Istanbul; Amman and Petra, Jordan; Samarkand, Uzbekistan; Bukhara and Baku, Azerbaijan; and St. Petersburg, Russia. The guests will travel by a chartered Boeing 737 luxuriously configured for the guests. The tour has been priced at $69,995 per person, based on double occupancy. Abercrombie & Kent made the announcement about the trip at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago after a meeting of A&K’s 100 Club of top-producing travel advisers. A&K USA’s president, Phil Otterson said that the tour has been included in the 2015 “preview†brochure with dates and pricing on its Luxury Small Group Journeys product. The detailed full brochure will be released in June.
In the Footsteps of Legends: A Journey by Private Jet was created after seeing the spurt in bookings in the early months of this year. Some other tours have also been added to their 2015 brochure. Starting November this year the travel firm is offering a river cruiser on Myanmar’s Irrawaddy River, the Sanctuary Ananda. A 22-day, 4,600-nautical mile Northwest Passage cruise from Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, to Anadyr, Russia has also been added to the brochure but will start only in August 2015. “Islands, Savannas & the Amazonâ€, starting in October 2015 will be a 26 day private jet trip beginning in the Amazon and heading northwest to Monaco.
