The 353 room luxury hotel Modern Honolulu has gone through a tough phase in its personal life. In its earlier relationship it was known as Waikiki EDITION as it was then managed by Marriott International Management Company. But the relationship soured over the years and it became so strained that the hotel and its business started suffering. Under the circumstances a quick divorce became a commercially wise option instead of waiting for the situation to deteriorate further. As time went by it became clearer that attempts to work on the relationship is also not going to lead anywhere.
In August, the owners of the luxury hotel felt that enough was enough and a drastic step needed to be taken in order to save the reputation and business of the hotel. They decided to oust the Marriott International Management Company with immediate effect. As a precautionary measure they changed the locks and renamed the hotel and handed over the management to another agency, Modern Management Services which is an affiliate of Aqua Hotels & Resorts.
Thankfully, not everything has changed at the luxury hotel. The hotel boasts of  one of a kind penthouse. It is like a large apartment with over 1,400 of living space. The penthouse features a private dining room, kitchen, entertainment center. But what makes it different and perhaps superior from other penthouse suites is the 1,500 square feet landscaped terrace that offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. The two bedrooms boasts of 46 inch flat screen TVs with full cable access, custom beds with imported linen, custom furniture and fixture. And the penthouse will cost you a reasonable $7,500 a night.
