Each year, champagne house G.H. Mumm & Cie joins hands with top designers to create a luxurious carrying case for its premium Cordon Rouge champagne. This year, the champagne house has again teamed up with designer Patrick Jouin and Les Ateliers d’Orfevrerie d’Anjou.
The 2011 version of the special edition Cordon Rouge champagne carries on the annual ritual of packaging the champagne bottle along with a saber. This year, the bottle and saber come packaged in a lacquered wooden box that has been painted white.
The bottle of Cordon Rouge champagne comes wrapped in a special Isothermal case that screams luxury. Made from white calfskin leather, the case is lined alcantra. Providing a splash of color to the elegant white is a bold red cord crafted out of ostrich leather. Instead of printing the GH MUMM logo as usual, this year the designers have embossed the logo on the luxurious carrying case.
The traditional Champagne Saber accompanies the bottle ensconced in its stunning carrying case. The saber is not merely a good-looking, non-functional accessory. It has a purpose – a glamorous one at that. If you want to remove the cork in style, the saber will be your instrument of choice.
Last year too, Jouin had designed the luxurious carrying case for the Cordon Rouge champagne bottle. He also created the Georges’ Champagne bucket. This year, Jouin has remained true to the traditional style, but added a luxurious twist of his own. The textured loop of ostrich leather and the embossed logo provide a stunning textural quality to the 2011 package.
