The city of Manhattan in New York is all gearing up for a special event, that will prove to be a haven for all cocktail lovers. On May 14th 2010, the Manhattan will become the venue for the Manhattan Cocktail Classic, a first of its kind event where the attendees will be able to join various seminars, hands-on classes and tastings and learn more about the history and makings of cocktails.
The Manhatta Cocktail Classic event will be held for five days in bars all across the city and major events are to be held at the Astor Center. The inauguration celebration of the event has been scheduled at New York Public Library, that would have its first four floors occupied by renowned bar tenders, chefs and numerous attendees. The Cocktail Classic event has been the brainchild of numerous professionals from the field of hospitality. These include thirteen bartenders, educators, bar owners and professionals. Some of these professionals include, David Wondrich, a cocktail historian and author; Lesley Townsend, founding director of the Astor Center; mixologist Dale DeGrof and beverage director, Julie Neiner.
