Metropolitan London Met Bar Now Offering Its Complete Interior Collection Via Auction For $8,195


One of the most happening places in the London nightlife, the Met Bar, located at the Metropolitan Hotel is now all set to go under an extensive refurbishing program and that has led the establishment to conceive a brilliant idea. The Met Bar has announced that the members only club has now put up its entire interior collection up for grabs via auction on eBay. This one of a kind auction has been set up to only let the Met Bar fans grab some of the establishment’s much revered items of interior, but the club has even stated that the proceeds from the auction will be directed towards charity purposes. The Met Bar was launched in the year 1977 and since then has become the one of the most frequent places by the U.K elite, where in the guests can enjoy relaxed dining by the day, featuring modern British cooking. Come dusk, the Met Bar transforms itself into a glorious bar that provides its patrons with eclectic cocktails and exclusive, vintage Champagnes.

The Met Bar will close its doors for a massive renovation project from July 31st, 2011 and will reopen in the month of September this year, while the auction at eBay is scheduled to end on August 1st, 2011. The auction carries a starting bid of $8,195 and the items included in the list comprise of some of the most famous furniture from the Met Bar such as private booths, the DJ decks, glassware, tables, chairs, and bar stools. The DJ Tables up for auction have been used by a plethora of high profile artists such as the likes of Oasis, Roger Taylor, Boy George, and even Bruce Willis. The Met Bar has been the ultimate party destination for a number of celebrities and over the years has instilled a sense of glorious class and status.

According to Met Bar management,

“Everything is for sale including the famed private booths, the DJ decks used by renowned DJs and artists including Oasis, Roger Taylor, Boy George, and even Bruce Willis, and glassware, tables, chairs, and bar stools.”
