Mercedes Benz has come out with an all improved version of its mbrace iPhone application. If you do not what this application is all about then let me enlighten you. It is basically a package of services quite similar to General Motors’ OnStar, which allows its users to make automatic 911 calls in case of an accident, remote unlocking and several other very useful services.
It was first introduced last year and was the first application to actually be wired with the vehicle telematics system that enabled the users to make use of services such as the remote locking/unlocking, plus vehicle and dealer location. This new and improved version adds to the already available features an instant access to Mercedes-Benz Concierge services. Just a mere tap on the screen gives the Mercedes driver an instant access to the location of restaurants and hotels and send directions straight to the phone and the car.
This is how it works. When the user calls for roadside assistance through this application, the location information is automatically sent to the help center and then the useful info is reverted back. This application can be downloaded from any iTunes app store. Such services would surely come in handy for people like me, but then again, I don’t have a Merc.
