The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel Celebrates Its 50th Anniversary with a $50,000 Package

The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel has been a landmark of luxury over the past 50 years and has been recently refurbished and refreshed for celebrating its 50th anniversary. They have devised an extravagant anniversary package that will cost you $50,000. The five night package has been devised as the most comprehensive all inclusive package that even includes features that are not normally available to guests against payment. All basic services are part of the package including a private driver, first-class round trip airfare for two, a 24-hour concierge, spa treatments, customized dining and unlimited golf, tennis, daily meals and beach rentals. If you so desire, the hotel can get you airlifted from the airport to the hotel in a helicopter.

All these services are routinely available in all the luxury travel packages but this package scores over others by offering some one-of-a-kind experiences that can’t be found or purchased anywhere else. The package includes a visit to Keck Observatory atop the 13,796 foot Mauna Kea Summit for a private star gazing session. The observatory is not open to public. The other activities unique to the package include a private helicopter tour of Volcano National Park, a customized Nature Tour, sailing on a catamaran with the sunset as a backdrop and a tour to the farm and an exclusive dinner. However the truly unique feature is that a coconut tree would be planted on the hotel property with your name printed on a plaque.

The other highlights of the package are the Golden Anniversary gifts the guests will receive. The list of gifts include an original painting Mary Spears, a local Hawaiian artist; a photographed portrait of the guests at a location of their choice; two TaylorMade drivers and something of your choice from 50th Anniversay resort wear collection created by Tori Richard. The anniversary celebrations at the hotel have started since August 2014 and will culminate in July 2015. It was the first resort built on the raw and stunning Kohala Coast in 1965 and it is time to celebrate its Golden Anniversary even if it costs $50,000.
