The Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival presented by MasterCard is one of the premiere luxury shopping festivals in the US. It is scheduled unfold in Chicago between August 24 and September 6, 2012. It will practically take over the commercial districts of the city. Shopping on magnificent mile is an exciting experience. The event will take place along a 13 mile block stretch that runs from Chicago’s Michigan Avenue to the banks of the Chicago River. As many as 460 stores, 275 restaurants, 60 hotels would be part of the exciting festival. For the two week festival a non-stop calendar of activities has been planned and Kelly Osbourne, famous for her fashion correspondence on E! will kick off the celebrations from the MasterCard Priceless Lounge.

The action packed two week festival will see an outdoor fashion show along North Michigan Avenue on August 24 which will be hosted by Kelly Osbourne. Shops on the magnificent mile will help to showcase the fall’s most wanted looks. On August 28 you can participate in “A Magnificent Tasteâ€, the haute outdoor foodie event of the summer where you can meet Paul Qui who is the winner of Top Chef. The foodies will also love the Labor Day weekend on the shopping mile in Chicago as they can enjoy gourmet food presentations at The Signature Room at the 95th, ZED451, Markethouse, and The Peninsula. Crate & Barrel, the culinary retail store will also be part of the presentation.
There is Something for Everyone in the Festival
Another highlight of the festival would be the Radio Disney presentation R5 which will feature Ross Lynch live in concert. The concert is scheduled for September 3. As MasterCard is the chief sponsor of the festival, the holders of their cards will automatically get VIP treatment and exclusive access to many of the events, stores and hotels. The card holders will be entitled to trolley transport and many other perks and giveaways. Fashion’s Night Out, a fabulous in-store celebration has been planned as the grand finale of this year’s shopping festival.
