The demand for superyachts has been on an upswing lately and the yacht builders have become hyperactive in making newer and better yachts. Heesen Yachts, the Dutch luxury superyacht builder is having a very fruitful and successful year 2011. They had a successful launch early in the year and they are ready again with yet another launch. The new launch is another member of the new 50-meter family of yachts. Called the Ice Angel, the new yacht will soon be joining its sister ship Satori.
The new 50 meter yacht by Heesen has an all aluminum hull with a semi displacement platform. Omega Architects have come up with the design and Heesen have provided the naval architecture in house. Omega was responsible for the interior design and chose to collaborate with Domus Nova for stunning results. The new yacht has a beam of 9.00 meters and a draft of 2.50-meters. The twin screw motor yacht has a pair of MTU 16V 4000 M90 engines. The engines are powerful enough to push the yacht to a top speed of 23 knots.
The new luxury yacht is capable of carrying about 70,000 liters of fuel that gives it a range of over 3,000 nautical miles. Ice Angel was sighted on the new waterway in the Netherlands recently. She does have a similar look as their earlier launch Satori but differs in her paint scheme which is a pur and simple black and white. The Ice Angel is ready in all respect and after some mandatory formalities should be delivered this summer.
