Luxury watch makers Peter Speake-Marin has recently announced the launch of their latest limited edition watch series called Marin 2 Mk1 Thalassa. This is truly a limited edition watch with just 30 pieces. The movement of this watch is the very special in-house designed and made SM2m. This manually wound movement is quite similar in design to the automatic SM2a movement. But the SM2m has a unique visual design and character.
This beautiful movement can be viewed through the sapphire crystal window. I think the special movement is the speciality of Speake-Marin, as they are always so exquisite. The watch looks great too with its 18k white gold casing, which is 42mm wide and is in Speake-Marin’s classic “Piccadilly” style. The dial looks a bit skeletonised. The subsidiary seconds dial is shaped like the rotor that is used by Speake-Marin in his automatic watches. The large lume covered hands make this watch practical as well as pleasing to look at.
The date disc is also quite large. I guess this range would not interest not already a fan of the brand, but the faithful customers would find Marin 2 Mk1 Thalassa to be a great addition to their collection.
