Luxury Living In Mauritius Has A New Address: Sofitel’s New Luxury Resort

Do you happen to be planning a luxury vacation in the Mauritius? While you are looking at a possible luxury resort or hotel for your upcoming holiday, give some thought to the newest name in luxury hospitality on the block – the Sofitel SO Mauritius. The Accor-managed luxury hotel chain’s newest property is spread over 34 acres of lush natural beauty in scenic Mauritius. The property features smart, contemporary architecture and all the top-end facilities that a wealthy tourist could ask for while vacationing in that exotic island paradise. In fact, this makes it all the more difficult to imagine that, as little as two years ago, the plot on which the Sofitel SO Mauritius stands was occupied by sugarcane plantations and undeveloped area.

Designed by acclaimed Thai architect Lek Bunnag, and with fashion designer Kenzo Takada adding fine style touches to the interiors, Sofitel SO Mauritius exudes a level of luxury that would charm even the most sophisticated and well-traveled tourists. A tour of the premises will present a fine blend of Indian and Creole influences. Guests at the luxury resort can access a secluded white sand beach bordering the resort over 520 square meters. Golf enthusiasts can head to the Heritage Golf Club, which is just a short walk away.

Luxury Accommodations With Luxury Facilities

Compared to some of the enormous luxury properties elsewhere, the Sofitel SO Mauritius is modest in terms of size. The luxury property is home to 92 accommodation options. These include 84 luxury suites, two family beach villas, two villas as part of the hotel’s luxury collection, as well as some especially secluded Beaulieu luxury villas tucked away in the surrounding greenery; the last of these are lavish villas designed by Kenzo Takada, so expect nothing but the best.

Each of the suites and villas are detached, single-storey structures, not your usual hotel rooms lined up in a long corridor. Guests get to sit in their own individual gardens and patios, enjoy the outdoor plunge pools and clean off in the open air showers. The villas come with their own private swimming pools. Each room has Wi-Fi, a mini-bar, an espresso machine, an LCD TV, and 24/7 butler services.

Luxury Living At The Sofitel SO Mauritius

Guests can spend time in the gardens and the lagoon, take photos of the paths lined with bougainvillea and hibiscus flowers and head to the sugarcane thatched buildings that house the restaurants and bar. If good food is what you are after, the luxury resort’s two restaurants do not disappoint. While Restaurant la Plage offers fresh-flavored dishes using plenty of fresh sea-food and home-grown veggies, the Flamboyant promises fine French and Mediterranean cuisine. If you are in the mood for a cocktail or two, head to the La Takamaka bar, and enjoy pulsing DJ music.

Of course, there is plenty of scope for relaxation as well. The Sofitel SO Spa offers a rich menu of innovative treatments based on the Claret Croquet method, plus a range of signature spa products. You could even book yourself for the acupuncture natural lift therapy while vacationing here.
