As the luxury market moves to India with an eye on expansion, the emerging nation will have to be ready to grab the opportunities. This means that there will soon be a demand for luxury education and training as well. Already, companies like Luxury Connect have entered the fray, ready to teach luxury education aspirants the nuances of handling a job in the luxury industry. Luxury Connect is now offering two programs that are tailored to meet the needs of the luxury market in India. The first of these is the Luxury Brand Management Program. This is apparently the first such program to be conducted in India. The program will be taught in association with Italian b-school SDA Bocconi.
The second course on offer is the Luxury Customer Experience Management Program. This luxury education program targets executives and managers and luxury retail stores. The highlights of the program are sessions on Customer Experience, Luxury Service Quality and Retail Sales Management among other things. This program will be taught by former Louis Vuitton Retail Training Director Jean Claude Roustant. Roustant held the post of Retail Training Director for 13 years and is a true expert on all things luxury.
Luxury education is entering India at a good time. It is estimated that India and China will control a quarter of the luxury market by 2015. By 2022, it is estimated that the luxury industry will provide employment to 17.6 million in the India sector. This means that luxury education will have to fill the gaps in the education and skills of luxury professionals in the country. Firms like Luxury Connect are taking steps in the right direction.
