Lucy Liu is the Newest Star of the He’s a Fan/She’s a Fan Campaign of Mandarin Oriental Hotels

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has launched a new He’s a Fan/She’s a Fan campaign. The campaign features celebrities who appreciate the finer things in life and thus have a natural liking for the hotels of the Mandarin Oriental Group. Lucy Liu, who stars as Joan Watson in Elementary, CBS’s award-winning reboot of the mythic characters by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is the latest celebrity to feature in the campaign. Mary McCartney, the portrait photographer has shot the campaign. The celebrity featuring in the campaign is asked to select the location of their choice which according to them represents a feeling of well being. Lucy Liu chose to be photographed at the Mandarin Oriental New York.

Lucy found it to be the best and her favorite hotel in the MO chain. The star best known for her daredevil role in Charlie’s Angel has been photographed for the campaign wearing a strapless white satin gown while hanging from a Mandarin Oriental New York high-rise fire escape. She must have done it at one of the upper floors as the Chrysler Building spire can be seen practically at eye-level in the background of the photograph. Liu found the Mandarin Oriental New York to be a convenient pit stop while shooting for Elementary on location. She particularly liked the Chinese breakfast they serve and called it “delicious and comforting”.

Liu was born in New York in a Mandarin-speaking family and that could be another reason why she prefers the New York hotel of the chain. She is the 27th official spokesperson of the hotel. The others before her like Dame Helen Mirren is particularly impressed by the staff of the hotel. Morgan Freeman also believes that MO has staffed its hotel with people who know what they are doing. Liam Neeson goes a step further and calls the hotel group “Pretty much the best.” The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group expresses its gratitude for the support extended by the celebrity by making a donation to his or her charity of choice. Liu has been associated with UNICEF for over a decade now so she chose the UN body and IGNITE which is an arts program for children in Delhi India.
