Looking for Summer Getaways? Here are Five Luxury Getaways

In case you have not finalized your plans for the summer getaway and can afford to have a flexible budget, we suggest that you take a look at some of the best, though very expensive luxury getaways  in five of America’s classic summer destinations. You would be surprised to know that while we keep talking about the struggle to get out of recession the prices of these premier vacation homes keep climbing. The first on our list is the low slung five bedroom 4,800-square-foot cottage on Massachusetts island of Martha’s Vineyard The home boasts of a stone patio and swimming pool apart from views over Slough Cove and Great Pond to the Atlantic. The price on per month basis for the luxury cottage in high season is $180,000.

Next on the list is a newly constructed shingle-style spread in Bridgehampton, N.Y. This landlocked estate was listed for $60 million last year during summer. Joe Farrell, the owner later offered to rent it out on two weeks basis for $500, 000. There are some outrageous amenities provided in the luxury home. The estate is back on the rental market this summer with a price tag of $250,000 per week. But if you are wanting to get away from the crowds to a luxurious corner, there is a bargain waiting for you at Mount Desert Island, Maine. For $58,000 a month you get an accommodation for twelve with water views, a small private beach and a yacht mooring. This hillside charmer can be reached in five hours by car from Boston.

On the West Coast, Chad Rogers, the former Million Dollar Listing star has the listing for a six bedroom beachfront estate in the Malibu Colony. If a celebrity is handling the property the price is expectedly high at $110,000 per month. The downside of the property is that its schizo décor might put off some of the vacationers.  On the contrary a six bedroom spread with two master suites on the East Coast in Nantucket tries to wow the visitor with the décor and designer stuff like Brunschwig & Fils wallpapers and solid teak pool furniture from McGuire’s Portico Collection. Ultimately you have to pay for the designer stuff as the rent has been fixed at $165,000 per month.
