Long-Form-Library: Luxurious bookshelf that doubles as a unique reading space

When thinking of bookshelves, things that run through your mind would normally include rectangular structures either leant against the wall or stationed on your desk. But designed Thomas Mills wanted to revamp the way we look at this furniture accessory. In the name of a bookshelf, he has rather created an environment, which not only feature space to stack up your collection, but also read and contemplate.

Hailed as the Long-Form-library, this is a reading space in itself. I have to say that I am in love with the wheel like structure here that squashes the conventional perception of box like reading environments. This modern library can be wheeled to any place he wants. The underside here is curved to allow steady rocking.  Once seated in the curved underside space, it actually feels like an old rocking chair. It has as much as 15 box units bolted back to back and this makes it as the largest fitting through any domestic aperture. Once the manufactuer ifsodoso ships the product, it would take around two hours to put it together.

The materials used here include Plywood, Flourescent Tubes, Bolts, Cord, Polycarbonate and Piano Hinge. The exterior is crafted out of Blonde Varnished Plywood and is available in color choices of red, orange, yellow, fluorescent lime panels. It measures about 246cm in diameter and 100 cm wide at the base. It is currently available for a price of £6000 i.e. around US$9,850 exclusive of shipping costs. So much for an unconventional bookshelf, huh?
