Knitted Calendar Unthreads Itself to Reveal Days, Months and Years

If you were to ask me what is the most unique calendar in the world, I would say the “Gregor” which is a knitted wall calendar scarf is one of the most unique if not the only unique calendar in the world. The calendar comes with a knitted piece of cloth and the thread is pulled down to reveal new dates, and erase the previous knits that showed previous dates.

The calendar seem to be in German, but you could certainly understand the days of the week, the Months are quite similar to English and the numbers are all the same. The calendar counts down the year by unwinding stitch by stitch. Developed by German industrial designer Patrick Frey and manufactured by details products + ideas, Gregor is expected to be available in 2011.

I would certainly buy this calendar no matter how much it might cost. In fact, if you do not know how to spend the year, you could stand or sit in front of the calendar and watch the unthreading of the entire year, and wait there as the years go by. Take a look at the video, and I am sure you would understand what I am trying to say better.
