Aston Martin, the luxury sports car manufacturer is celebrating its centenary in 2013. Jumeirah Group, the global luxury hotel company sponsored the car company at the 41st ADAC Zurich Nürburgring 24 Hours. It is the highlight of the motor racing calendar. The endurance classic race was held on Sunday 19th and Monday 20th May 2013. The coming together of two powerful luxury brands had very positive results. Aston Martin had three different entries and their cars earned victories at different stages. The V12 Vantage GT3, Hydrogen-Hybrid Rapide S and a near-production V12 Vantage participated in different races and created one of the best impressions for the viewing public.
This Was the 8th Year of Aston Martin at the Races
Aston Martin has become a regular at the legendary event and it was the eighth year that their CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez had personally competed in one of the races. This year he made history by driving the first ever zero CO2 emissions lap in an international motor race. He did the lap in a Hybrid Hydrogen Aston Martin Rapide S race car that uses a 6.0-litre V12 twin-turbocharged prototype. The Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 showcased Jumeirah as a key sponsor at the races. It was the most appropriate event an location for the Jumeirah group to highlight its growing presence across the world. They have opened their 21st hotel and have another 18 projects in the pipeline at different stages of completion.
Centenary Partnership Between Luxury Brands Will Run Through the Year
The collaboration between Jumeirah and Aston Martin is not limited to Nürburgring 24 Hours. . Between 15th and 21st July, 100 Aston Martin cars are set to drive in convoy throughout Europe, for a Centenary Drive. The Jumeirah Carlton Tower, Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel and Grosvenor House Apartments by Jumeirah Living will provide hospitality to the drivers.
