The five star Joule Hotel, Dallas is the chicest place to stay in the city. The luxury quotient of the hotel has been upgraded further after a two year $78 million revamp. The high end property is owned by oil tycoon, real estate developer and movie mogul Tim Headington who is known for his films like The Departed, The Aviator, the Tourist and Hugo. The A-listers from Hollywood make a beeline for the Joule Hotel whenever they are visiting Dallas. The extensive renovation has restructured the hotel completely and it now boasts of three lavish penthouses that provide stunning views of the city. They are all premium suites that command a rack rate of $10,000 per night.

The Renovation Has Added 29 Guest Suites to the Hotel

The Joule Hotel has been a landmark building in Dallas since long. It was first opened in the neo-Gothic 1927 Dallas National Bank Building. It has expanded since then and now occupies the compound of five adjoining buildings including the 1913 Scholar Building and a 1911 Salvation Army building. Adam Tihany, the famed designer lead the team that undertook the extensive renovation project. The hotel was expanded to add another 29 guest suites including the three penthouses. The hotel now also has a rooftop garden terrace with a climate controlled pavilion, three new ballrooms and four new meeting rooms.

Standard Rooms Start at $198 Per Night

The new penthouses are by far the best and the most luxurious accommodation available in Dallas. Each of the penthouse features two bedrooms, two and a half baths, a living room, library, dining room, kitchen, pool table and fireplace. The hotel has also expanded underground and it now boasts of the 8,000-square-foot subterranean luxury spa by the UK’s ESPA. Some of the other important additions to the hotel are eight boutiques including a Taschen book store, a museum-quality art collection and a new restaurant and lobby bar. The Joule has transformed itself into the best and the most upscale hotel in Dallas. However the hotel has several standard rooms for which the tariff starts at a reasonable $198 per night on weekdays.
