In order to give a new momentum to their global expansion he has added a seasoned player to his top management team. Jacques Levy has stepped down as CEO of Sephora Worldwide and is all set to join the top Management team of Guess with an unusual title of “Founder’s Adviser†on global expansion.
Mr. Levy had a distinguished innings at Sephora and took it to new levels of growth and success and established it as a leading beauty retailer with more than 1200 stores worldwide. He comes to his new role with rich experience with companies like Staples International, Disney, Darty, and Galleries Lafayette. Paul Marciano, while announcing the new appointment expressed his happiness and optimism about the global expansion gaining momentum. He called Levy the most prominent and accomplished retail executives of the last decade.
Guess already has a large retail network around the world. They would obviously want to consolidate their position and expand strategically to be able to take advantage of the improving global economy. It is in this field they hope that Jacque Levy can help them and take them forward at a faster pace. The stock market did not seem to be particularly impressed by the move as the Guess shares fell 28 cents during afternoon trading.
