Istanbul’s Pera Palace Hotel Taken Over by Jumeirah Group

The hotel- management company, Jumeirah Group LLC will operate Istanbul’s historic Pera Palace Hotel, a long established European hotel located in Pera district. It was built in 1892 as a destination hotel in Istanbul for the passengers of Orient Express. Turkey based Demsa group and Dubai based Luxury hotel group Jumeirah have  signed an agreement to assume the management of ‘Pera Palace Hotel’ from the 1st of May, 2012.

At a cost of thirty million dollars, the state owned Pera palace reopened after two years of restoration and renovation, which ensure the preservation of original architecture and design. The museum hotel is listed in Turkey as a one of the historic and cultural monuments. The best part is that the guests experience the standards of a luxury hotel that belongs to 21st century.

The Pera Palace Hotel overlooking an estuary called Golden Horn, is in the heart of the city and within the proximity of the Sishane subway station. The upgraded 115 bedrooms offer  best comforts for guests with impeccable services, which include Wi-Fi, telephone, 24-hour room service, mini-bar and more. The Deluxe Pera View Rooms features an individual balcony and a king sized bed. The glass artworks between bedroom and bathroom allow natural light.

The hotel is well known for its connections with famous artists and writers. Hence, the suites are named after King Edward VIII, Ernest Hemingway, Greta Garbo and Agatha Christie who had stayed in these rooms. Pera Palace Hotel is known for its bar, restaurant, and patisserie. One could taste the exotic fusion cuisine of Turkish, Italian and French cuisine in Agatha Restaurant. You can relax in a traditional bath and Pera spa.
