One of the biggest automotive enthusiasts in the world, Don Panoz, has now unveiled his latest creation and his tribute to the Le Mans auto race legacy in the form of the all new Panoz Abruzzi “Spirit of Le Mansâ€. This incredibly unique, powerful and gorgeous vehicles was unveiled at the Circuit de La Sarthe, France. The Abruzzi has been designed and developed by the Panoz Auto Development, in Hoschton, Georgia and the vehicle depicts the perfect balance between high performance and classy looks.
The Panoz Abruzzi churns out 600+ horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque and the car itself is designed on the lines of the GTR-1 “Batmobile” racer, with the engine being contained in the front hood of the car and the back mounted air cooled radiators, where the air is sucked from ducts placed on the top of the vehicle and along the rear side windows. Don Panoz has decided to maintain the exclusivity of the Abruzzi, and has stated that, only 81 Abruzzi cars will made in the next three years and each of the car would correspond to the Le Mans race up until 2013.
The owners of the incredible vehicles will be provided with a driving course with the car on the Bugatti circuit at Le Mans and will also given a one in a lifetime opportunity of being invited to the Le Mans race a guest of Panoz and race organizer Automobile Club de l’Ouest. The pricing of the Abruzzi hasn’t been announced yet, but the car is said to be in level with the European road regulations.
