Diageo unveils Limited-Edition Gift Packs to celebrate the Year of Dragon

Chinese Year of Dragon has ushered in a new era of limited edition products. We have earlier seen the Vertu Chinese dragon phone and Swarovski Longwang Statue and today Diageo Global Travel and Middle East had come up with limited-edition gift packs for Chinese white spirits brand Shui Jing Fang, its second biggest-selling brand in Asia behind Johnnie Walker Scotch whisky to celebrate the Chinese New Year 2012. These packs are presently available on shelves in over 20 international airports across Asia Pacific and also at key airports in Europe like Manchester, London, Paris, Brussels, Milan and Amsterdam Schiphol, with the brand about to launch in Moscow, Frankfurt and Munich.

The gift pack called Shui Jing Fang Forest Green Crystal Pack comes with a Swarovski crystal art bottle with Xilion-cut Chaton and is primarily aimed for the gifting occasion. Xilion Chaton refers to the Swarovski’s star-shaped cut and diamond-like luminosity which further epitomizes high precision, quality and clarity in the bottle. The estimated selling price here is US$625. Another gift pack here is exclusive to travel retail and is priced at US$120.

Besides the content, the packaging too here is impeccable. The graphics on the box depict two dragons praying for happiness in the oncoming year, and shoppers are invited to “celebrate your reunion with Shui Jing Fang in the Year of The Dragon”. Besides this, the gift pack also includes images of lion dancing and fireworks. Shui Jing Fang has been in existence since 600 years and has a heritage spanning over three great dynasties – Yuan, Ming and Qing. So much that it has been declared to be the oldest distillery in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records.
