David and Victoria Want to Sell Their £10 Million Beckingham Palace to a Family

Rownebury House popularly known as Beckingham Palace because of its soccer star owner has been put on the market for £10 million. Located in Hertfordshire, the palatial home has been the British base of David and Victoria Beckham since 1999. David’s new assignment and Victoria’s business interests make it more convenient for them to have a base in London instead of wasting an hour commuting on a daily basis. Since their return to England from the US the Beckham family has rented a £20 million house in Kensington and has been spending most of their time in Britain there. They have hardly ever been able to visit their Hertfordshire home and that’s why they want to sell it.

They Have Made Several Additions to the Large Home Over the Years

The Beckhams are particular about who would move into their home. They don’t want a developer to move in and convert it into luxury apartments to earn profits. They have instructed the agents who are handling the sale to ensure that the home goes to a family. This would make finding a buyer for the property a little difficult as there are very few families who are looking for a house of this size. They would still not like the developer to make smaller flats and cash in on their name. They had bought the home with 22 acre grounds in 1999 when the house was being run by the council as a children’s home. The Beckhams have added to the home over the years. Their additions include a snooker room, a gym and floodlit tennis courts.

They Are Looking for a Family Home in Kensington or Mayfair

After leaving Los Angeles Galaxy David has joined the French club Saint Germain and has to spend time in France also. Victoria has her fashion business in Battersea. She also likes to be close to the exclusive designer boutiques of Bond Street so the couple preferred staying in London even if it meant staying in hotels like The Savoy. They have now rented a high security property in Kensington. They are on the lookout for a family home in Kensington or Mayfair. They are holding on to their £11 million Beverly Hills as they plan to use it for breaks during the school holidays. The power couple have four children with the eldest entering the teen and the youngest a little under two years old.
