If you think of designer shoes Christian Louboutin is the first name that comes to mind. He is a designer that truly symbolizes luxury lifestyle. The shoe designer is now diversifying and leveraging his enormous brand equity to launch a beauty line called Christian Loubouti Beaute. Women’s Wear Daily has carried the details about the initiative in a report. The designer, according to the report has teamed up with Batallure Beauty LLC to appear on the makeup counter and enter the luxury beauty market with a bang. The red sole lovers are excited as they are about to get an extra dose of Louboutin and can hope to wear the Louboutin red on their lips.

The specifics of the line are not clear as yet. The report simply says that the new line under Christian Louboutin Beauté will include multiple, unspecified classifications which could practically mean anything from lipstick and eye shadow to nail polish. One thing one can be sure about is that the Louboutin’s signature red which has become the symbol of the brand will be prominently visible whatever the collection. One thing Louboutin is clear about is that his beauty products will also help empower women like his footwear also strive to do. One can expect a sexy and strong collection just like his stilettos.

London’s Design Museum has devoted an entire exhibit for Louboutin’s designs. The designer is busy with several other projects including creating sets and shows for a burlesque show in Paris and a glass slipper for Disney to coincide with the re-release of Cinderella on DVD this fall. But beauty seems to be the favorite playground for top designers. Popular designers like Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs have ventured successfully in the field and Louboutin has also not been able to resist the temptation. The kind of appeal his name has amongst women customers, one can safely say that beauty products carrying his name will sell as well as his shoes.
