Changes at AOL sees Luxist Make Way for Stylelist

The only thing constant in this world is change. Sometimes the change is sudden and radical and sometimes it is gradual. AOL., the American global Internet services and media company was originally known as America Online. It was spun off as a separate company from its parent Time Warner in 2009. There have been major changes since then as well. In September last year AOL signed an agreement to acquire TechCrunch to further its overall strategy of providing premier online content. In February this year AOL bought The Huffington Post for $315 million which has triggered major reorganization of the online properties at AOL.

One of the major changes involved Luxist, the website covering luxury and fine living topics. They covered real estate, trends in travel, the art world, shopping, fashion, gourmet food, wine and the spending habits of the rich and famous. The reorganization process saw the popular website being closed down in its present form and reappearing in a new avatar as Stylelist. Over the years Luxist had developed into the leading luxury blog with its team of expert columnists and bloggers who were at the forefront of their respective fields. They were providing an insider’s guide to fine living to the affluent and the new rich. They analyzed the top trends in the luxury universe in an entertaining way.

Stylelist has a new fresh look and layout. With the Huffington Post becoming part of AOL, its co-founder Arianna Huffington assumed the role of President and Editor-in-Chief of The AOL Huffington Post Media group. She will oversee the development of all editorial content from both companies including news, technology, music and local media websites. With her rich experience and background in the luxury media we can look forward to Stylelist scaling new heights in luxury blogging. Luxist had set the bar rather high but Stylelist seems determined to surpass it in terms of quality, presentation and content.
