London is one of the most expensive cities in the world. The city is hosting the Olympic Games this year and it is getting ready to receive guests from around the world who would be visiting UK to watch the games live and support their favorite team. If you are not a sponsored guest of the Olympic committee you will find it tough to find suitable accommodation in London during the games. The premium hotels have been booked much in advance but several flats and apartments have become available on rent for short term weekly contracts. Since the supply is obviously much less than the demand these rentals are available at ultra premium prices. One Hyde Park leads the pack followed by Chelsea, Angel and Westbourne Grove. The owners of these homes have added luxury amenities and service to make the rental a complete package and justify the ultra premium pricing.
One Hyde Park: The Most Expensive Rental
One Hyde Park has emerged as the ultra-premium hotspot of London today. It is not simply a hyped up address but the apartment and their interiors justify its status. A successful businessman from the Middle East had taken up a four bedroom penthouse in the exclusive building. He has made his penthouse available for rent during the games season. It is an ultra modern property but is affordable for billionaires and millionaires as the owner is charging $90,000 per week. Even at this price there are bound to be several takers for the expensive rental and that’s primarily the reason why the prices are ruling so high.
However this is not the only apartment in the building which can be hired during the games. There is another 4-bedroom penthouse which comes with premium service of a butler and maid and an Aston Martin car will be available for the guests. The rent is obviously high as the penthouse is renting out for $17,500 (£11,000) a night. The guests will be treated like royalty and all their need will be looked after but you should be prepared to pay the premium price.
Angel: The Other Expensive Rental
There are other options also available which are rather expensive but might sound reasonable when compared to One Hyde Park. An apartment in Angel is most suitable for a large group. There is luxurious accommodation and amenities available for eight guests in the apartment which is available for $87,508 (£55,000) a week. The highlights of this apartment are a private courtyard, the state of the art open kitchen, and a panoramic view of the London city. If you are willing to pay for it you can enjoy an exciting week in the apartment during the games.
Westbourne Grove and the Chelsea Apartment
Then there is a seven bedroom Chelsea apartment though it is not in the heart of the London city. However its location next to the Thames River makes it more suitable for the tourists. But only the rich tourists arriving for the games may be able to afford it as it is being rented out for $79,542 (£50,000) a week for the duration of the games. It is a tourist hotspot but very conveniently connected to the heart of the city through King’s Road. You can also go for a six bedroom place in Westbourne Grove. With trendy and modernistic décor the place comes with an L-shaped drawing room, 75-foot private rear garden and also a personal driveway. The rent may seem high or reasonable depending on the way you look at it. It is available for hire during the games for $71,567 (£45,000) a week.
