Karl Lagerfeld describes Blake Lively as a kind of American dream girl. Lively didn’t think so herself even though she had been featured on the cover of Vogue twice and her hair was called iconic by no less than New York Times. She credits Lagerfeld for transforming her into Chanel’s dream girl by appointing her ‘official ambassador’ of the label’s new Mademoiselle handbag. She doesn’t forget to express her gratitude to Anna Wintour who introduced her to Karl last July during the Chanel couture show.
Lively is ecstatic about the whole experience and very frank and open about it. It is her Cinderella moment. She says that calling it a dream come true would be an understatement. She claims she has grown up admiring Chanel and she finds it timeless, chic, graceful, intelligent, iconic and ever relevant.
Blake Lively, in fact goes on and on about how lucky and proud she is to be the face of Chanel. She claims the opportunity came unexpectedly. She had met Karl Lagerfeld in July but did not expect him to be photographing her six months hence. She assures everyone that though she is the face of the bag she will carry it like every girl.
