Bentley Launches £26,000 Luxury Sunglasses to Complement its Flagship Vehicle

by Mayuri

You can trust Bentley to do anything and everything in style. They have made a pair of sunglasses to complement their flagship vehicle the Bentley Mulsanne. The car carries a price tag of £225,000 and the matching shades will cost you £26,000. The stunning price tag is not simply because it is hand crafted from platinum but because it has been crafted like a piece of jewelry or a piece of art. The car makers had commissioned the Austrian specialists  Estede to make the limited edition shades. Estede have experience in this line as they had earlier made solid gold shades for luxury brands Chopard and S. T. Dupont.

The high price tag has not proved to be a deterrent to sales as the limited edition creation has already been snapped up by wealthy businessmen in Hong Kong and a member of the Dubai royal family. Each piece is made to order and exact specifications of the would be user is taken. Even an optician visits the buyer to take all the relevant measurements. There is an option of personalizing the frame as the owner’s initials can be engraved on it. If the buyer is willing to pay extra precious stones can be set on the frame to form his initials.

Bentley’s famous ‘Flying B’ logo is printed on the frame in polished enamel. The lense used for the shades is sourced from German specialists Zeiss. The lenses have polarised coatings that makes them glare-proof and resistant to scratches. The manufacturers claim that they offer improved vision in strong light conditions. The limited edition shades will have a run of only 100 pairs and each frame will be stamped with its own unique number. A relatively affordable version in 18-carat yellow gold, rose gold or white gold is available for £6,400. Bentley has already sold 25 pieces of the platinum version and 70 pieces of the gold replicas.
