It was a historical moment for the yacht industry when Lürssen Yachts launched the 180 meter yacht named Azzam at their facilities in Bremen Germany. The new yacht has created a new record with its sheer size by displacing Eclipse, which ruled the seas as the largest yacht in the world. Azzam has been designed by Nauta Yachts and every detail of the design has been magnificently turned into reality by Lürssen Yachts. The construction of the yacht was personally supervised by Engineer Mubarak Saad al Ahbabi.
The Yacht Scores High in Terms of Size, Performance and Technology
The yard released a statement on the historic occasion. According to the yard this was perhaps the most complex and challenging project. It was a sophisticated design and to do justice to it Eng. Mubarak Saad al Ahbabi assembled a world-class team and guided them personally to achieve the spectacular result. He was very clear in his objectives and was focused on building a large luxury yacht with an innovative and timeless design that would be able to travel at high speed in warm and shallow waters. Azzam is right at the top in terms of dimension, performance and technology. It is the largest yacht at 180 meters and is capable of a top speed of 30 knots. The yacht also created a record in terms of the building time.
French designer Christophe Leoni has Done the Interiors
The yacht has highly complex technical features and it became possible to construct it accurately as per the design in record time because the team of professionals worked closely together. The interior of the yacht has been done by French designer Christophe Leoni. The interiors have been done in the turn of the century Empire style and the designer is proud of the final result. The size of the yacht really strikes you in the main salon which has a length of 29 meters and a beam of 18 meters without any pillars. A yacht of this size requires powerful engines to move it at a fast clip. It is powered by a combination of 2 gas turbines and 2 diesel engines with a total of 94000 horse powers.
