Armor Jewelry’s ELEVEN Exudes Minimalist Elegance

A few days ago, I was drooling over the classic beauty of Turkish jeweler Gurhan Orhan’s new bronze line, which he debuted at Baselworld 2011. Today, it is time for something more contemporary and edgy. Armor Jewelry has just launched its new collection for 2011 – the simply named ELEVEN. The new line is everything that Gurhan’s designs are not. Here are jewelry designs that ooze minimalist chic. At the same time, Armor Jewelry’s ELEVEN is as stylish as Gurhan’s high-end bronze line. This is high fashion at its best.

Armor Jewelry is the brainchild of New York-based designer Sandee Shin. It may have started as a hobby for Shin, but since its launch in 2009, Armor Jewelry has been ascending the high fashion ladder. And ELEVEN is an example of how minimalist designs can create a sexy, edgy look. Shin explained what her ELEVEN collection is all about. She has used a lot of solid forms, mixing them with the soft elegance of chained designs. These are not your traditional jewelry designs. The modernity has been highlighted by using fine metals such as sterling silver.

The new collection is scheduled a 4 April launch. However, promotional photos are already up on Armor Jewelry’s website. Photographer Stephanie Seliskar, model Shelby Welinder and hair and makeup artist Buddy Head have worked really well to showcase the beauty of Shin’s designs. My personal favorite is the chain-design neckpiece, which exudes a soft, contemporary elegance. But most of Shin’s new designs are highly wearable. They can dress down a flamboyant dress or dress up a regular outfit. The launch of ELEVEN is definitely worth waiting for.
