Ever seen a box soliciting to get sold by itself? Well, you are about to see one. The tool devised to ‘deceive and slaughter’, as described by the artist Caleb Larsen, is nowhere close to being as perilous as it sounds. In fact “A Tool to Deceive and Slaughter” is just another enamel textured black box with a unique feature. It can connect to internet via a built-in Ethernet jack, of course after you plug it, and lists itself for sale on eBay!!
This ornamental black block surfaced in the year 2008 and has been successfully floating in the market ever since. Don’t think that it only has an aesthetic value, it runs a check on eBay every seven days to see if it found itself a brand new customer.
It comes along with an agreement in which the essentials are:
1) The new customer of this artwork should always connect it to internet.
2) The new customer also has to pay 15% of the appreciated value to the artist.
3) The charges generated at the auction venue are to be incurred by the current holder of this artwork!
Woof…With all these stringent conditions I am wondering who would want to become a part of this rat race? When u get a grip of this black box don’t think it to be a virgin, you just might be one of its customers, as I said before, it has a mind of its own!
