A new wine for the New York Jets fans

The football season hasn’t come as yet but the celebratory wines are already out. There are still more months to come, but the new York Jets fans can start stocking up on some 2008 cabernet sauvignon called Jets Uncorked. Have to say that I like the name. One can start ordering right ahead. They win or lose, you don’t really need a reason to have some good wine right?

This wine was actually created to commemorate the new Meadowlands Stadium. Made at the Girard Winery in Yountville, California, this wine is the creation of the winemaker Marco DiGiulio. It has top flavours of red cherries, currants, and berries combined with supple tannins. The flavouring also has a bit of oak and followed with a long spicy finish. These wines will be available in some of the local restaurants from September.

One can also order them from August onwards at the Jets website. Around 8000 cases have been made so it won’t run out too soon hopefully. The bottle has the drawing of a play run by the Jets in one of the games. A 750ml bottle will cost you $27.99, while a 1.5 l bottle will come for about $56.99. Cheers!
