247 Central Park West Town House sells for a record price of $22.4 million

A town house sale on Central Park West turned to be biggest sale of the week for it brought in proceeds of as much as $22.375 million as per city public records.  This town house comes with its own 60-foot lap pool and touched a new record for sale of a single-family town house on the Upper West Side. This is counted to be one of the few single-family homes that face the pack. This particular sale deal has broken the previous record which was set at $19.39 million in 2010 for 26 West 76th Street according to Gregory J. Heym who is the chief economist at Terra Holdings.

A broker at Sotheby’s International Realty was representing the seller, Keith D. Monda and hopes the sales figure on the East Side will now catch up after this record deal. Town house seems to be the next big thing around the block for recently the former president of Coach, Mr. Monda, bought the six-story West Side town house in 2006 for $15.5 million, also a record at the time.

The seller back then was a member of the Hollywood tinsel town, Abigail E. Disney, a grandniece of Walt Disney, who had gut-renovated the house. It was initially listed in spring 2010 at $32 million. The price was reduced to $29 million in March 2011 and to $25 million last May. Besides the pool, the town house here also has a fitness/massage area; a large media room; five bedrooms, including a master suite that takes up an entire floor; two terraces; and a landscaped garden.
