1001 Nights House: Luxury Home Or Sculptural Masterpiece?

In February this year, we had chanced upon the stunning 1001 Nights Diamond Purse from the house of Mouawad. Strangely enough, the 1001 Nights tag is being used yet again; this time in the name of an almost sculptural construction – the 1001 Nights House by A-Cero Architects.

Unique Single Family Home

This stunning creation made of black villar granite stone looks less like a home and more like a marvelous fort. However, A-Cero has designed this luxury home for a family unit. Built as part of a development project just outside Madrid, this one of a kind luxury estate occupies a plot of 7,000 square meters. The main residence covers some 2,100 square meters.

The entry point is through a walkway that occupies a higher level. From there you move into the house that appears like a fortress. The curved walls that emerge above stone and water appear  to hide the home itself. You would be forgiven for imagining that the building has hardly any windows. That is, until you enter into this beautifully airy home.

Stunning Design

A large black glass door leads inside from the front of the property. But it is the area near the rear that will convince families about shifting to this sculptural home. This area is home to a porch, a pool and a garden. A-Cero revealed that the garden features Middle Eastern vegetation, pomegranate trees and palm trees because the owners requested for the same.

Most of the interior windows look out on to this area. Contrary to the windowless impression given by the façade, there are several large windows allowing for plenty of natural light to stream in. The furniture outside is taken from A-Cero In’s Rest Collection.

If money were not an issue, would you buy the 1001 Nights House?
