Experience The Houses is the title given to a collection of three short films released by Swire Hotels. The films have been made to capture the experience of guests staying at The Opposite House and The Upper House. The first two films depict through an intimate story a day in the life of a hotel guest. The third film combines the two stories to suggest that the protagonists in the two films who have not met but are clearly longing to meet. The soundtrack of the film helps explore the individuality aspect of each film. Irish singer-songwriter Lisa Hannigan’s song “I Don’t Know” plays in the background of each film.

Brian Williams, managing director of Swire Hotels highlighted the fact that the expectation of a modern day traveler has gone beyond the desire of staying in a beautifully designed hotel. They are looking for experiences and the Swire Hotels strives to create unique and personal moments for the guests derived from their own interests and needs. The films are also trying to project this concept and idea. The films produced by Laura Holmes Production from the UK, have been director Lynsey Miller. She found all the Swire Hotels properties stunning but she focused on the guests’ interactions with those around them. She has a large portfolio of work, particularly short films that have been screened at multiple film festivals across the world.

The Opposite House is an urban hotel in Beijing. Designed by Japanese architect, Kengo Kuma, the hotel offers 98 large studios including nine spacious suites and a two-level penthouse with its own roof terrace. The Upper House is a unique and small luxury hotel above Pacific Place in Hong Kong. Its 117 guest rooms include 21 suites and two penthouses. Designed by celebrated architect André Fu, the hotel exudes warmth. Its friendly and informal atmosphere makes the guests feel at home.
