Davos to Get a New Hotel by 2013, to Run Under InterContinental Chain

Stilli Park AG, Credit Suisse Real Estate Fund Hospitality and the Inter Continental Hotel chain have finalised an agreement for a hotel in Davos. The Swiss fund will invest 155 million francs in the construction of the five star Hotel Stilli Park. Following the completion in November 2013, Stilli Park AG will lease the hotel for 20 years and run it as a five-star establishment in cooperation with the InterContinental hotel chain.

The construction of the hotel is scheduled to start in April 2011. The oval shaped luxury hotel is designed to have 216 guest rooms and suites. 38 private apartments which will be located right across the hotel is also part of the project. The new flagship on the Davos hotel will be called InterContinental Davos Resort & Spa. In addition to the lobby, the lower floor will house two restaurants, two bars, a spa zone and a conference hall.

The organizers of the World Economic Forum were happy that another major hotel project is to be realized in Davos. The 40 meter high hotel has a design that is really eye catching. Its oval shape and metal external cladding gives it a unique look. Up to 90% of the energy used for heating the hotel will be renewable. Building materials from local and regional sources will be utilized as much as possible.
