A Shoe Fashion Week will be launched this September during the New York Fashion Week. Called the Shoe Week, it is a shoe focused series of events planned for the week September 6th to September 13th which is the week of NYFW SS2013. The Shoe Week events include a variety of runway shows, presentations, exhibitions, media lounge, Handbag and Shoe Lounge. In addition there will be cocktail events and parties that focus on luxury shoes and related accessories with the aim of placing the category and its designers in the forefront of the fashion week. The events will be taking place through the week at different venues.
The Events Planned will be Interactive
Paul Farkas, the co-founder of Shoe Fashion Week explained that the aim behind the event is to build features and narrative media. They will be designed to showcase designers and the accessories they have created and the heritage behind their creations. Paul is also very much into real time transmedia as the CEO of Social TV and is in a position to leverage the digital world to the benefit of luxury brands. The events will generally focus on top designers and fashion houses in the footwear space. There will be traditional and new media interviews. The presence of live cameras is expected to make it an interactive experience.
Luxury Shoe Fashion Show will be the Lead Event
The major event during the week would be the luxury Shoe Fashion Show. The other important events include Handbag and Shoe Lounge, Style Media House, and designer Sneaker Concert. The current trends will obviously be at the core of the events but they will also highlight the brand heritage, cultural milestones and the creativity behind the designs. The best amongst the best in the luxury footwear and its accompanying accessories will be awarded. The celebrities will also be part of the Shoe Week in a big way. The celebrities will come with their brand associations. They are naturally attracted to luxury shoes and high sportswear. Including them in the events during the week will go a long way in extending the vision of Shoe Week.
