One of the most prestigious events in the film festival calendar, 2011 Cannes International Film Festival is upon us. The preparation is on for attending to the high profile guests who will be descending on the city for the event. The Cannes 2011 DPA Lounge opened today at the Intercontinental Carlton Hotel in Cannes. The hotel is playing host to some of the biggest and glamorous stars. The lounge features some spectacular gifts but the highlight of the collection is a Bora Bora vacation sponsored by St. Regis, a $65,000 vacation package that features a stay at the Royal Estate at The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort.
The lounge will operate from ten in the morning to six in the evening, everyday till May 20. It has been created for the celebrities so that they can shop for promotional luxury items. Marchon will gift its new collection of sunglasses from Pucci and Lacoste. There are clutches made available by Michique, which are fit to be used on the red carpet at Cannes. A store, rather a showroom has been added to the gift lounge for those who do not qualify for a gift or complimentary products, so that they can buy the stunning products available there.
Lisa Drader-Murphy of Turbine has created the “Cannes Survival Kit” for selected guests, which includes Turbine’s ‘Upside-Down Dress’, reversible leather hobo bag, and the ‘Day to Night’ lipstick duo. The exclusive items have been made in the Turbine Studio located in an apple orchard in Nova Scotia’s beautiful Annapolis Valley. Turbine has been known for its Power Clothes for Women. This is not the first such occasion for Turbine but it has shipped worldwide to clients who include TV, film, and music celebrities and has been featured in the celebrity gift lounges during the Superbowl, Toronto International Film Festival, and the Golden Globe Awards as well.
