Lamborghini, the renowned car maker is celebrating its 50th anniversary by creating a limited edition version of its popular model Aventador. Called the LP720-4 50 Anniversario Edition, the commemorative edition will have a production run of numbered 100 units only. The anniversary edition will be officially unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show this Saturday. However, the German car magazine Autobild has released pictures of the exclusive model online taking away partially the surprise factor from the official launch later in the week. The special edition of the Aventador will feature a tweaked engine that will deliver 20hp more than the standard engine. The total output of the engine will be 710hp or 720PS.

The car is capable of a top speed of 217 miles per hour and its body is aerodynamically more efficient to handle such high speed because of a special carbon fiber aero kit. Lamborghinis are known for their fast acceleration and this special edition is said to do 0 to 100 kms in just 2.9 seconds. The pictures leaked online show the car painted in a bright yellow shade. It is called ‘Giallo Maggio’ which is Italian for Yellow May. It is not yet known if all the 100 units will be released in the same color or other color combinations will be offered.

The special edition has some new elements in terms of design. The car sports a new black aero package with an aggressive front apron. It also features new rear diffuser and side panels. The car boasts of black alloy wheels. The yellow black color combination is maintained in the interior as well. This is a very special car that will have many takers. The car will be unveiled at Shanghai as China has become an important market for the carmaker. The photographs have created a buzz amongst the car lovers who are curious to know more about the special edition car.
