There is something about breaching convention when you are producing a high-profile gadget. It is all the more difficult to do it when the world is watching and trying to swoop in and rip apart every small niggles. Yet the Aura from Motorola is quite an attractive piece for a mobile phone and despite how it might be bringing back memories of some past designs, it still scores big with its new look. The worlds first mobile phone with circular display, the Aura has a screen that features 16 million colors and 300 dpi clarity, plus is coated with 62-carat sapphire crystal to prevent scratching.
The phone slides open into a slim form and it apparently woks without failure for over 100,000 times. There is one reason that I have always stayed away from phones that flip and slide open and it is their fragile nature. That goes for the Aura too. The phone sports a quad band with GPRS and EDGE featuring 7.3 hours of talk time, 2GB of internal memory, AGPS and 2MP camera. The clock display on top and its wonderfully sharp look make it real special. The Aura is all set for sales come Christmas season and it comes at a cost of $2000.
