A dog’s life is not as bad as it is made out to be. Only last week, I wrote about the luxurious and eco-friendly dog hammock that costs $169.99. And now, it is time to inspect the launch of Chien Bleu, a luxury tour operator dedicated to organizing trips for travelers and their dogs. This happens to be the first such operator in the United Kingdom.
The launch of Chien Bleu should spell good news for the various dog friendly hotels in the United Kingdom and around the world. The fancy French name “Chien Bleu” refers to owner Erin Boyd’s golden Labrador, a beautiful canine named Bleu. Erin and Blue have traipsed around 30 luxury hotels all within the UK to check whether they are dog friendly enough.
Not only that, Erin and Blue have unearthed a number of great plusses that will make any mutt feel pampered like a royal poodle. For instance, Milestone Hotel in Kensington, west London offers a Pampering Pet Package. This includes a room service menu that offers dishes like steak and Cumberland sausage to ensure that your four-legged friend has a luxurious vacation. Meanwhile, dogs that cannot do without their doggy biscuits can chomp on “locally baked gourmet dog biscuits” at Blangdon Manor in Devon.
These 30 hotels apparently have the “paw of approval” from Blue. If you head to the website it is clear that Blue is the star of this show. And if you are looking to take your four-legged friend on a family holiday, the Chien Bleu experience seems well worth a try.
